Kildrummy Castle
Though only the outer walls remain thanks largely due to stone quarrying 200 years ago or more,
nonetheless a most imposing structure. One of the first examples of a castle built using stone
when it was constructed in the 13th century.
Getting there. Up a track off the A97 two miles west of Kildrummy, 35 miles NE of Aberdeen.
Edinburgh Castle
Dominating the City is the Castle, dating from the 12th Century.
Stunning views are to be had from its ramparts over the roofs of the Old Town,
across to Princes Street and the New Town, further to the hills of the Lothian countryside
and the Firth of Forth. Home of the Honours of Scotland- the Scottish Crown Jewels.
Inverary Castle
Seat of the Dukes of Argyll, home to Clan Campbell. The present castle was completed in 1798. A most imposing Great Armoury Hall.
A room hung with beautiful tapestries dating back to the 1780's. Grounds a delight to explore.
Situated on Loch Fyne, off the A83, an hour and a half's drive north of Glasgow on the West Coast of Scotland.

Overlooking the River Tweed just east of Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
The largest inhabited castle in Scotland.
Built in 1721 from a design by William Adam. Home of the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe.
